If you’re concerned about the possibility of the documents you send to us being compromised in transit, you have multiple options. This is a decision that does need to be made on your end of the business relationship. To achieve the level of security you desire, you may need to invest in tech upgrades, more secure data storage/transfer options, special training for your personnel, etc. Our help with your security policy can only go as far as answering questions, should you have them. However, there is good news – when you’ve established a security policy that fits your needs, we’re willing to work with it. We can say this: if you’re really concerned about the security of your documents, you should think twice before sending them as e-mail attachments. If you do need to attach a sensitive or confidential document to an e-mail, the software you used to create it may have its own methods of document encryption, even if it’s only the ability to lock your document with a passcode. Indicate clearly what should be translated, and what should be left alone. If the contents are highly sensitive, you can always redact them before translation; bear in mind that for an accurate translation, you may need to indicate grammatical details about the redacted information. Beyond e-mail, if you use an online content management system (CMS), consider allowing our project team to access it. This way, the files stay where they are, and the team members come to them.
