IMG_0004We started off our summer in an amazing way – at Digital Summit 2014!

A MUST for business owners, marketers, and entrepreneurs alike… Digital Summit 2014 is an annual event that connects digital professionals across a gamut of industries with leading voices in technology, marketing and media, Digital Summit travels from city to city every year attracting some of the most experienced and knowledgeable individuals in business. On May 20th and 21st, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center hosted Digital Summit for its 2014 visit to Atlanta. We attended the event as sponsors from beginning to end, and we had an all-around great time! If you or your business were able to attend this year, you know Digital Summit secured an impressive line-up of speakers and panelists, including:

– Roy Sekoff, founder of HuffPost Live, co-founder of The Huffington Post

– Ryan Oliver, Twitter’s brand strategist for the Southeast

– Kevin Pollak, actor, comedian and Internet personality

– Susan Bennett, voice-over artist and the voice of Apple’s Siri

Yes, we got to meet Siri! Meeting her, along with all the other esteemed guests, was pretty cool for our proud business translation agency!

IMG_0002We set up camp in a prime location, where attendees and delegates stopped by between panels, to share questions and stories, and take a chocolate globe from the bowl; there weren’t many chocolates left by the time we packed up on Wednesday, as you might guess. But our Language Wheel had to be the biggest draw. The concept is simple enough – spin the wheel to select a language, tell us where in the world that language is spoken, and win an inflatable globe if you get it right! We had a few repeat visitors across both days of the event, determined to spin and spin until they got it right… and some of the languages are tough.

IMG_0001But the best part of events like this, without fail, is having the chance to interact on the ground with people who are interested and curious about language services, and how translation can help a business to flourish. We had some interesting conversations over the course of those two days, and made some great contacts. If you couldn’t make it to Digital Summit Atlanta this year, or if you were there and didn’t get to talk with us, go ahead and give us a call or an e-mail with your translation needs, or with any questions you may have. We’re always eager to talk about language with you, with or without the Language Wheel!
